“I call him my horse whisperer,” Liam’s dad said. “He literally goes right up to them and whispers in their ears.” Liam loves helping take care of his parents’ horse, and the highlight of his week is going to riding therapy.
Liam will be receiving a kidney transplant from his mother in a few months. Liam is also facing additional surgeries due to a rare condition that affects his abdominal organs. Riding horses is very therapeutic for children with his condition. “He is so brave and full of joy despite his health,” his mom says. Liam wishes to have his own pony – “brave and strong and calm” – that he can ride.
